COMPILED BY STUDENTS FROM THE APPALACHIAN STATE HIstory education Program

The following documents have been compiled and recommended by students in HIS 3534: Teaching Controversy in History, a class at Appalachian State University designed to prepare future K-12 history educators. We welcome further suggestions or tips on their use or the use of other documents. We began this project because we believe that using primary documents is critical to teaching students how to become critical thinkers and how to speak about and learn controversial topics in history.
